  • I have to say that a lot of the hype about “brain-based education” is overblown.
    You don’t need to know that attention is modulated by the superior colliculus to know that students need to pay attention to learn something.
    You don’t need to know how the amygdala regulates emotion, or how our dopaminergic system is critical to how we learn systems of rewards and punishment to know that you need to make a classroom experience emotionally engaging and rewarding for students to learn.
